panOpticum - The Science Center in Erlangen on photonics and optical technologies
Store shadow games with phosphorescence, examine what you brought from home in a microscope, make your own breath visible and much more.
With numerous exhibits for self-experimentation, the panOPTICUM offers exciting insights into optics and photonics, including a wide range of information on the various research focuses and degree programmes in Erlangen.
A visit is not only worthwhile for School classes and Students. With experiments on radiation and quantum optics, on light as a wave, on laser technology in 3D printing, on optical measurement methods, on microscopy and much more, the panOPTICUM is a place of wonder for Young and old.
Admission is free.

The Siemens MedMuseum in Erlangen
Showcases the history of medical technology from its beginnings to the present day. Located in the historic machine hall of Siemens' predecessor, Reiniger, Gebbert & Schall, it presents over 200 exhibits across 400 square meters, including early X-ray machines and pacemakers. Visitors can learn more about the technological developments and the stories behind them, aided by digital magnifying glasses and interactive stations.
The museum highlights the development of medical technology at Siemens, from electrotherapy to X-ray diagnostics and current technologies.
Selected exhibits: Highlights include Siemens' first computed tomography scanner and a hearing aid with a striking design. Early devices such as the "diving battery" and the electric dental drill from 1890 are also on display.
